And yet... I do fear for their future. I only barely succeeded in saving Zuko-- if she's convicted for war crimes when all this is over, will I be able to save her when the law is against me?

No. There's no use dwelling on it. She still thinks Azula is her daughter, and I would never fault a parent for being defensive of her own child. I just hope that she... will remember what I told her, in case Azula does try to hurt her afterwards.
